Forms Of Payment
Claim Submission
For patients with Dental Insurance Benefits, we are happy to file your insurance claims. In most cases, this can be done electronically.
Provided your plan allows, we can request that the insurance company pay us directly for their portion of your claim however, any portion not covered by your insurance benefits (eg: copayment, deductible, etc) is payable at the time of treatment. In the event we are unable to ascertain what your share will be (eg: the insurance company does not respond on-line or if the claim has to be mailed), you will be required to leave a credit card on file with us. Once we have received an Explanation of Benefits from your insurance carrier, we will process the balance on your credit card. Alternately, you can pay us directly for the full cost of treatment and we can have any insurance reimbursement directed to the plan holder.
If your plan does not allow payment to our office, you will be required pay us directly. Your claim will be submitted and the insurance company will be asked to reimburse you for their portion.
Dental Insurance Coverage
Our staff deals with many insurance companies offering hundreds of different dental plans. The coverage provided by these policies are limited by many things including copayments, deductibles, frequency limits, maximums and fee guides. Further, these coverages can change at any time
Your employer’s Human Resources Department should have all this information available for you as many insurance companies will not disclose details of coverage to dental offices. Please bring us a copy of your dental benefit plan and we’ll review it with you to ensure you are utilizing your dental benefits advantageously.
If your spouse or partner also has insurance coverage, you may be covered by two plans. This is known as Coordination of Benefits by the insurance industry. Please ask us how to utilize this type of coverage.
We will do our best to provide you with accurate coverage estimates based on the information provided to us. Please speak with our office’s administrative staff should you have any questions or concerns.
It is important to remember that your dental insurance plan is a complex, lengthy contract between your employer or union and the insurance company that has been negotiated as part of your benefit package, not our dental office.
